Doree Shafrir is a writer and podcaster. Her first novel, STARTUP, was published by Little, Brown in 2017 and was called “biting and astute” by the New York Times Book Review. Her memoir, THANKS FOR WAITING: THE JOY (& WEIRDNESS) OF BEING A LATE BLOOMER, will be published by Ballantine in June 2021. Doree is the co-host of the podcasts Forever35, which won the 2020 iHeart Radio Award for Best Fashion & Beauty Podcast, and Matt & Doree’s Eggcellent Adventure, a podcast about navigating infertility and the IVF process. She has also written about culture, women’s issues, parenting, media, and celebrity for publications including The Cut, The New York Times, and Slate, and was formerly an editor at BuzzFeed and Rolling Stone. She has a BA and MA in history from the University of Pennsylvania and an MA in arts and culture journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She lives in Los Angeles with her family.
